Our CEO and founder, Ray, comes from a proud background of three generations of asphalt workers. From an early age, he was surrounded by the sights, sounds, and values of the paving industry. Long summer days on job sites, early mornings preparing equipment, and late evenings discussing projects at the kitchen table shaped the foundation of who he would become.

Ray was raised on the principles of dependability, honesty, hard work, commitment, and faith in God. These values were not simply taught — they were lived every day. Watching his family take pride in their work and stand behind their word helped him understand that asphalt paving is more than a service. It is a responsibility to customers, communities, and the generations that follow.

The Beginning — Riverside Asphalt Solutions of Yankton (2006)

In 2006, with a vision for building something of his own, Ray founded Riverside Asphalt Solutions in Yankton, South Dakota. Starting with determination, experience, and a strong reputation for quality workmanship, the company quickly became known for delivering reliable asphalt paving, repair, and maintenance services throughout the region.

Through years of dedication, Ray focused on growing the business the right way — one satisfied customer at a time. His leadership emphasized:

Expansion into Rapid City — A New Chapter (2025)

After nearly two decades of success in the Yankton area, Ray saw an opportunity to bring the same trusted service and strong work ethic to Western South Dakota.

In 2025, Riverside Asphalt Solutions proudly opened its second location in Rapid City. This expansion represented more than business growth — it was the continuation of a lifelong mission to serve new communities with dependable asphalt solutions built to withstand the demanding Black Hills climate.

Rapid City presented unique challenges including freeze-thaw cycles, elevation changes, and heavy seasonal traffic. Ray embraced the opportunity, assembling experienced crews and developing tailored paving strategies to meet the needs of commercial properties, homeowners, and industrial clients throughout the region.

Today, Riverside Asphalt Solutions of Rapid City continues to build a reputation for quality paving, professional service, and long-lasting results.

Beyond business, Ray is deeply committed to his role as a husband and father. He is the proud father of two daughters and two sons, and a devoted partner to his loving wife. Family remains the heart of everything he does — both at home and in the workplace.
